Bethanie and Tyler first met in April 2023 in Southern Pines. They laughed to learn they were literally twenty steps away—neighbors at the same apartment complex. That tiny coincidence felt like a gentle spark of destiny.From our first messages to that doorstep hello, we felt an instant attraction. Tyler's driven, competitive charm matched Bethanie's loving, playful energy, and his funny quips kept Bethanie laughing. We both knew we wanted to learn more about each other.We quickly discovered we shared many loves—dogs, pickleball, road trips and late-night milk shake runs to Cook-Out. On our first few dates we traded stories and jokes, and laughter came easily. We realized our days together felt light and comforting, like coming home.We've had our ups and downs, yet we learned to show up for one another. When storms rose, we offered steady support, and we met each other with patience and humor. Those teachable moments only strengthened our bond—love always wins.Together we found joy in traveling and cheering at sporting events. Every trip felt like a shared heartbeat, every stadium roar a reminder that we were in this journey side by side, ready for the next one. Bethanie also has become Tyler's #1 Cheerleader. Showing up and cheering loud at his ACS Club &amp; Pinecrest High School soccer matches he coaches for.Even our dogs helped tighten our bond. Walking Bo &amp; Jax and sharing quiet moments, we learned to listen and adapt. The pickleball court became a playful stage where we teased and teased and grew closer with every rally.We both found much love for each other's families who we care for deeply. Family dinners, family birthday and holiday gatherings have become such a joyful highlight.On December 27, 2025, a Pines sunset evening in the Village of Pinehurst framed our moment as Tyler dropped to one knee. He surprised Bethanie with a quiet proposal, followed by a joyous engagement party with family and friends at Pine Crest Inn.Together, we look ahead with hopeful hearts. A loving home, shared travels, and many spontaneous moments await us. I am grateful for every step we take, and I know we will keep choosing each other—today, tomorrow, and always.To our Family and Friends, you've been a huge part of our lives. You're Part of Our Next Chapter, and we cannot wait for you to Celebrate with Us. Tyler's Younger Brother and Best Friend since day 1! Growing up and moving around often being in a military family was one of my favorite memories with Zach. We always had each other! Tyler does enjoy beating Zach in Pickleball & Ping-Pong matches any chance he gets over the holidays and family vacations! 

Zach currently lives in Houston, Texas with his wife Kathy and daughter Chelsea! 

Tyler is Chelsea's favorite uncle & cannot wait to see her be our official flower girl! We will be looking forward to family Thanksgiving soccer matches in the back yard. Yes, there will be a trophy.

Eric has been Tyler's best friend since the West Pine Middle School Days! Go Wildcats! We grew up playing soccer together and still do today with our adult league soccer team - Goonies F.C.!  It is always a competition between us two so do not be surprised if there is a Pickleball match in the middle of the wedding... 

Eric lives in Southern Pines, North Carolina with his wife Kailey, son Bennett and Baby Nelly!

Charlie is Tyler's cousin originally from Massachusetts who has transplanted to Tampa Bay, Florida with his wife Elizabeth and several pets... 

I have always enjoyed hanging with Charlie growing up and still to this day, we enjoy sporting events together and playing some golf; also, talking trash about the Hurricanes or the Bruins winning in Hockey. Core memory with Charlie was we went to a Boston Redsox vs. Tampa Bay Rays game one year... Boston was up 8-3 in the bottom of the 8th.. Charlie wanted to leave to beat traffic back to St. Leo.. Boston lost 8-9. Last time I ever left a sporting event early.

Adam has become one of Tyler's really good friends over the past 10 years!  Whether it's Goonies F.C. matches, going to Carolina Hurricane Hockey games, or trying to win a Pickleball tournament, it's always a good time! One of my core memories of Adam is he tried to pick up snowboarding a couple years ago at Wintergreen in Virginia... It did not go well...

Matt Scott has been one of Tyler's best friends since the middle school days! We grew up playing Club, West Pine, &  Pinecrest School Soccer together. We always have a good time whether it's on the golf course or just catching up with dinner and drinks. 

Matt currently lives in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

The bets are off! With Tyler getting married this year, Matt Scott is the last of our friends' group to get married!

Matt was Tyler's first friend he made once he moved to Moore County! 6th Grade Math class with Mr. Lassiter... Matt has always been family to me. Growing up doing everything together, playing outside, sports and eventually winning three National Chamber Ensemble Titles with the Pinecrest Chamber in San Fransisco, Chicago, and New York City! 

Matt currently lives in Sanford, North Carolina with his wife Lauren, son Cameron, and baby Andrew!

Tyler and Callum have known each other for the last 16 years. We hit off our friendship when we found out we were huge Arsenal fans. Callum is originally from London, England. We enjoyed hanging out during the summertime growing up, playing sports, and hanging out with family and friends. Though Callum moved to New York they have stayed in touch and have always had a strong friendship. Recently, Callum and I joke around about the chances that Arsenal win the Premier League in the same year Tyler is getting married. Callum is a well known Tennis Pro and lives in New York City with his wife Nora and their daughter.

Katelyn is Bethanie’s older sister and bestie since birth! We were born and raised in sunny San Diego, California. Our family vacations to Mexico every summer were the best. Every summer we would vacation in Las Gaviotas, Baja California. Countless hours on the beach, ATVing, riding horses on the beach, getting our hair braided, and playing Chinese checkers on the balcony while watching the sunset is my favorite memory growing up. Katelyn got married and moved away when I was 18. We always made sure we had at least 2 California burritos with us while waiting for her at the airport. While we sort of grew apart when she moved, we are now closer than ever and I am beyond grateful to have her as my Matron of Honor. Katelyn currently lives in Pinehurst, North Carolina with her husband Luke, son Logan and daughter Molly!


Katelyn Gerhardt 

Chelsea has been Bethanie's best friend since 7th grade at Oak Crest Middle School in Encinitas, CA. We met and sat next to each other everyday in history class. We graduated high school together in 2010 from San Dieguito Academy, go Mustangs! We loved spending endless hours at the beach, devouring burritos, sunset walks, hiking in Torrey Pines, snowboard trips to Big Bear and cheering on the San Diego Padres. Chelsea lives with her husband, Ramy in downtown San Diego. I'm so excited to call her a neighbor as she embarks on her new life journey when they move east to FL in October. I am so thankful for her and our friendship!

Chelsea Ravansari

Molly is Bethanie’s niece who was born in Alabama and moved to North Carolina when she was two. About to start her freshman year of high school, she plays travel soccer for AC Sandhills (and Tyler might even be her coach one day). Molly and I enjoy dance class together and spending time with family, I also love taking her to watch Tyler coach. I have loved watching Molly grow into an amazing young woman and I'm so excited to have her stand by her side on the big day.

Molly Gerhardt

Bethanie and Celie met in 2021 while they worked at The Tavern in The Holly Inn in Pinehurst. Celie was my first friend after I moved to North Carolina, and we quickly became close. Though our careers have taken different paths, we still enjoy lunch dates, walking our dogs around the reservoir, and beach trips when we can. Celie lives in Southern Pines with her boyfriend Jonah and three cats; I'm so thankful for our friendship and couldn’t say I do without her.

Kathy is Bethanie's future sister in law. Kathy is married to Tyler's younger brother, Zach. When we met on a family vacation in Fredricksburg, TX in July 2025, we instantly became good friends. We don't see each other often because we live in different states, but we text all the time and I love facetime calls with my soon to be niece Chelsea! I am so excited to share endless memories, and raise babies together. We are on this wild ride together!

Kathy Herbst

Emily is Bethanie’s future sister‑in‑law and a recent graduate of North Carolina University at Chapel Hill with a master's degree in speech pathology. Her warm, patient love for children is something she and I bond over—since I'm  a former preschool teacher.  I can’t wait to make countless memories with Emily as part of the family. She currently lives in Durham, North Carolina.

Emily Herbst

Jenna is a close family friend who feels like a sister. In 2012, she came into our family when my sister Katelyn hired her to be the nanny for my nephew, Logan and niece, Molly. Though Jenna and I lived in different states we stayed in touch—visits to see Katelyn always included time with Jenna and her family. I am so excited to make more memories together. Jenna lives in Carthage, North Carolina with her husband Zac, daughter Hayden, and their two dogs.

Bethanie &amp; Tyler recommend starting off with the Beer Cheese Pretzel Bites! A place where neighbors and friends can gather, share a beer, some great food and simply recharge their spirit. Inside the brewhouse, the brick walls remain blackened from the decades it housed massive steam boilers. Original valves and pipes have been repurposed as legs beneath tables, light fixtures above the booths or simply remain on the brick walls. Pinehurst Brewing Co. is a unique experience, made all the more so by the walls that surround it. We look forward to sharing our special home with you.

Shop the historic district of Southern Pines on Broad Street between Connecticut and Indiana, on both&nbsp;sides of the Southern Pines Amtrack Train Station! Trees, flowers and courtyards grace the specialty shops, galleries,&nbsp;cafes, live music and night life for a lovely village atmosphere. Bethanie and Tyler recommend SoPies Pizza for a slice or the Ice Cream Parlor for a Root Beer Float! Live music in the evenings are always great at the Jefferson Inn or the Bell Tree Tavern!
